The Employee Silent Auction came to a close on Friday, September 14th at 3:00 PM, and the amount of money that was raised sent a message loud and clear. Online Stores’ employees care!
In only 10 days time, Online Stores, Inc. was able to raise over $160 from employees’ bids. And with the match from OLS, that brings the grand total to over $320! The charity of choice, has yet to be decided, as it will be selected by employee polling. The employees can choose from the following charities:
The Angelman Syndrome Foundation: The ASF’s mission is to advance the awareness and treatment of Angelman syndrome through education and information, research, and support for individuals with Angelman syndrome, their families and other concerned parties. We exist to give all of them a reason to smile, with the ultimate goal of finding a cure.
Save the Children: Save the Children serves impoverished, marginalized and vulnerable children and families in more than 120 nations. Our programs reach both children and those working to save and improve their lives, including parents, caregivers, community members and members of our partner organizations. We help save children’s lives, protect them from exploitation and assist them in accessing education and health care.
Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, PA: Children’s Hospital cares for every child even if help is needed when the family cannot afford it because of a loss of insurance, because a child has a chronic illness, or because the cost of care exceeds what insurance will pay. That is where the Free Care Fund comes in. Since the hospital opened in 1890, it has continued to provide free and uncompensated care to families in need. Last year, we provided over $36 million worth of free care to children in our region.
The American Red Cross: The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, to provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
With the ability to only choose one charity, it is making the choice quite difficult. Regardless of the decision, Online Stores, Inc. is proud to continually support those in need.
