Online Stores, Inc. has been undergoing some serious expansion in recent days, and according Kevin Hickey, co-founder and VP of the company, the plans for 2010 include more of the same.
“This year we expect to at least double our number of niche sites,” said Hickey.
What’s a niche site, you ask? I put that very question to OLS Business Development Manager, Marta DePaul.
“A niche site is an e-commerce site that focuses on a subset of a market. For example, Online Stores runs Discount Safety Gear as a supplier of a wide variety of safety items. SafetyGlasses.net is a niche site for safety items that retails only safety glasses and sports glasses.”
One of OLS’ newest niche sites, PerfectMatchBotique.com, offers personalized, hand-painted children’s furniture and toys. In the weeks to come, OLS is also planning to launch a site offering Automated External Defibrillators, or AEDs.
